The world's largest archive on the Jews of the thirteen western American states, this renowned research resource preserves and makes available to scholars hundreds of archival and oral history collections documenting individuals, organizations, and communities of the past 150 years, along with thousands of rare and historic photographs, newspapers and periodicals, ephemera, fine press books, and other valuable materials. BLUMENTHAL RARE BOOK AND MANUSCRIPT LIBRARY

This major Judaica library houses over 12,000 rare and illustrated books and manuscripts, Jewish recorded and sheet music, rare and distinctive Haggadot, the Setchko Holocaust Collection, thousands of photographs, and other priceless research materials. Open Monday through Thursday BUT researchers need first to phone 510/549-6939 for an appointment.
